That's a good thought, except it's so ancient I'm fairly certain it doesn't have electric eyes.

...There's nothing electrical that goes beyond the box that sits on the ceiling by the outlet. Everything else is mechanical.

I wonder whether replacing one of these is the sort of task I should've done on Saturday when it was OK weather, instead of next weekend, when it might be freezing. *sigh*
