Open Ears day 1

I'm counting by my days at the festival, because by the festival's reckoning, it was day 4. But their days 1,2, and 3 weren't as appealing (or conflicted with work).

Panderecki String Quartet: the only one of the pieces that stood out for me was "Black Angels for Electric String Quartet (1970)" by George Crumb. The program says that the haunting melodic element was "descending E, A, and D-sharp". Good thing they said. ...the effect of playing crystal goblets with a bow was properly creepy-sounding.

We skipped the 10:30 concert because we were just too tired, even though the performers had the great name of "I have eaten the city".
