Profane Marketing Choices

Cul de Snack is an awful name for a lunch bar. It seems all cutesy until you remember what Cul means en français.

Yeah. Snack's Ass Cafe. Just the right impression.

On the other hand, this is a great name and font for an environmental campaign, and I don't mind that the province is co-sponsoring it. At all.

Well, it depends a LOT on what kind of services they offer.

The ass? Or the province?

"Well, it depends a LOT on what kind of services they offer."

Snack-ass-finding?...

Making it more poignant, at least to me: On Sundays, it's where the Quakers have their business meeting... Maybe there are horses' asses there, but hopefully not for lunch.

In the evening, it's the location of a weekly live-radio folk concert. Whose host still calls it "The Cafe at Anabel Taylor," and I'm sure he'll call it that until he dies, they go off the air, or they change it back to "The Cafe at Anabel Taylor."

:)

Looks like a fairly standard casse-croûte kind of menu, not the sushi eaten from a buffet carpeted with scantily-clad young men and women the name would lead me to hope for.

"This snack is terrible, it tastes like ass!"

"Of course it does, didn't you read the sign?"

Wouldn't it be "en francais?" (forgive the lack of a mark on the c)

Right you are. :) Fixed.

I would also like to note that some people call the end of a loaf of bread the bum.

I think the above-cited Wikipedia entry is a bit whacked, as "everyone" knows that the pope's nose (sometimes called the parson's nose if the bird is a chicken or isn't very big) refers to the mass of skin, fat and bone that makes up the tail of a cooked turkey.

Hm, indeed again the ass, whether it's bread or bird. Which I suppose is an idea for a proper ass / pope's-nose sandwich.
