Today was good, despite the off-and-on rain. When d's gone, it's nice indeed to have another warm mammel around the house; Rover improved my mood considerably today.

I went binge-erranding this morning: I picked up a new hose for our vacuum cleaner, and went to the local Surplus Store, which kicks ass. Where else can you find a Call Display box ($9), a video card for an older computer($29), some audio cables ($4), and a small pile of assorted springs to try and fix the dog's extendo-leash ($0.25)? In one place? And cheap, too? I think I showed great restraint and did not leave with a sledge-hammer ($6) a pup tent ($15) or a teensy-weensy video camara ($20!!!) ...though, the camara was tempting- I could always go into the identity-theft business...

I don't think I could resist a $6 sledgehammer.

Though it could end up costing you a lot more in the end, because destroying things with a sledgehammer is dangerously enjoyable.

You'd probably like Mendelson's in Dayton, if you're ever here. There's various consumer and restaurant surplus items, but 80% of the floor space consists of the disassembled guts of a hundred obsolete factories. It's like Mad Scientists' Death Robot Construction Supply Central.

...mendelson's sounds like fun.
