Not such a good morning

So, I wrote up a review of [livejournal.com profile] purplesofa's concert last night (which has also been reviewed by [livejournal.com profile] melted_snowball and [livejournal.com profile] lovecraftienne). Then I crashed mozilla. Lesson: don't edit long text in a web-browser. Which is a lesson you would think I'd have learned, by now, but I guess I hadn't. I redirect you to either of the above reviews, since I don't have the energy to rewrite. In summary, I'm glad we went, and they sang beautifully.

Next, I went to check on the grill pan which I'd been soaking in bleach, because there were grilled bits that just weren't coming off, even though it was nonstick. I say "was". The scrubber sponge took off the grilled bits, along with bits of the grill. Lesson: bleach and non-stick pans don't mix.

Hopefully, these are the last of today's lessons I'll be repeating for the nth time.

I'm fine with making mistakes; I get pissed off at myself when they're not new ones.

I've been using the Logjam (http://logjam.danga.com/) client and have been very happy with it. It will let you save draft copies of posts, for example.

And I loath non-stick coatings, because they invariably do.

thanks; that was going to be a future task; figuring out which lj client to replace centericq and yon web-browser. ...there's even a debian package for logjam. :)

This coating hadn't been bad; D. just had grilled things on it without brushing the grill with oil. In general, it's a good pan.

I find I have to be too careful with nonstick surfaces to avoid them becoming damaged. For example, it annoys me that I can't use a metal knife to cut brownies or pie slices in a non-stick baking pan. Give me glass, cast iron, or stainless steel any day.
