Dear God how many trees.

Our mailbox was stuffed with newspaper ads (delivered by our local paper).

Anyone want to guess how much paper?

3.5 lbs. 1.5kg.

Gah.

Leaving aside that I called them on Monday to tell them once again to stop delivering these ads to us, I'm aghast at how much paper this is. It's over 2 1/4 inches (compressed) tall.

Gah.

Does it work to put a sign on your mailbox that says, "no circulars"? That worked in TO.

I uttered some expletives myself when I brought all that crap in today. I need to figure out how to make them stop.

We have a sign to that effect, so I suppose the answer might be "no". However, the sign might have been less visible in the gloom, since they came through mere minutes before I got home at 5:20.

If you call the paper, they're supposed to suspend delivery.

I need to figure out how indignant I should sound when I call them on Monday. Right now I'm going... 3.5lbs x 50,000 homes = 87 tons of paper = suck. And I think they deliver more than 50k of them.

We don't have ours yet. I expect the cold and rain are too much this evening for the woman who delivers them and she'll bring them round in the morning.

As the end of the year approaches, there are more and larger ads.
