Fallback

I remember back when the Fall time change was exciting because it meant I could stay up an hour later.

Ha. Haha. Right now, I'm relishing the an extra hour of sleep tonight.

And I have come to dread the Fall time change. Any bets when the 8-month-old alarm clock will start its customary "da-da-da" tomorrow morning? It's 6:30 on a good day and 5:15 on a bad one, so tomorrow that might conceivably be 4:15. Ouch. I'd better go to bed.

>_<

Hope ms. alarm-clock slept in... just a bit...

This is my favorite holiday of the year! :-)

I spent the day with friends who were spending the weekend at a gay campground not far from here. It was fun to see all the costumes/parade, elaborately decorated cabins/tents/RV's (wow) and to hang by the pool (sunny, in 70's) and go to the dance and haunted house. But it was also nice to leave at 1am and drive home and sleep in my own bed with peace and quiet. And take advantage of that extra hour!

I was also afraid I'd wake up at 5:30 this morning, but going to bed near 1am (way past my usual bedtime) kept that from happening.

I used to love Daylight Time, and hate Standard Time. Now I wake up at 6:30 to be at work at 8:00, and it's going to be great that it'll be light again when I have to get up tomorrow.

Ah, well, woke up at 5:30 this morning. I just got up anyway, since I've got a big paper deadline in one week, and I'm hoping to finish three papers for then.

I stayed up working on some non-required reading. I kept looking at my computer clock to see if it would change automatically. I didn't notice when it did, thinking it was 3:30Am when I finally went to bed but it was actually 4:30. So much for the extra sleep.

Oh my. So much, indeed.

In the end, I was up late instead of getting another hour of sleep, as well.

At least they built in one day of recovery into the system. Assuming you didn't work yesterday!
