I wouldn't make this up.

The last 24 hours featured the following:

[livejournal.com profile] melted_snowball's birthday came and went, with slightly tinny fanfare but a very tasty dinner. We went to Bhima's Warung, where we both ate well for a grand total of $10. Yes, we were served by our neighbour, who gave us free/cheap drinks. Yes, I did order my entree from the vegetarian menu (basically: fried rice with grilled veggies, peanut sauce, and a fried egg on top). And yes, I drank non-alcoholic because I'm getting over a cold (fat lot of good that did me; the caffeinated tea seems to have done me in tonight). And yes, the lion's share of the meal was paid for by a very generous gift-certificate from the sponsors of a talk that d. gives about Computer Science to high-school girls. But we had expected that I'd be paying a bit more than $10, more like $50, even with the gift-certificate. Whatever; I gave them a very good tip (yes that math works out too). ...Love you sweetie, and may you ever be showered with witty drinks and tasty repartee.

My parents have begun final stages of buying a new house, which is an hour closer to here, in an urban setting bordering a Fredrick Olmstead park, and it's a house which both of them are very happy about. Yay!

Today I was asked in all seriousness whether for expediency I minded being named a Chaplain.

You must have been channelling the strongest power in the universe without knowing - the Scottish! Who else can get deals like that? LOL

BTW, whatever became of the survey?

Yes- the survey- at present, we're looking at what's the proper web tool to do it in, and various sources are suggesting Survey Monkey is less than optimal. I asked on LinkedIn resulted in a business-owner (at sensorpro.net) who is going to work up a free example which should be able to show us whether their tool's the right one.

I've got you still in mind about it though. :)

I was all down with what you were saying until the last sentence.

Run that by me again?

That house is beautiful. I am totally envious! =)

Yeah, it is. I'm sort of holding my breath; what chances it actually works out? Still fairly good chances, but...
