WTF?

Dear lameo,

You locked your bike to mine.

Luckily, you only locked it to my fork and I have quick-release, because I have a bolt-cutter in my lab.

Smooches,

-D

This person was lucky I was in a hurry, or I would've been more creative. Our lab has more than just bolt-cutters.

Did you actually leave that note?

I saw an Irish flick (http://imdb.com/title/tt0366527/) once in which a similar situation led to two cute boys ending up in an equally cute relationship. But given that you're not in need of that, I'm glad that you were able to extricate your bike :)

Yes, the parts in italics. On a bright pink piece of paper which the nice people at the Davis Library gave me. I thought of leaving a heart or two, but that would be gilding the lily, don't you think?

... at the time I couldn't help but feel like I was being subjected to a silly plot-device; it never actually happens to people, does it?... But the reviews make that sound like a cute movie. :)

I specifically pointed out that I was not happy about the whole "smooches" thing last night at dinner; [livejournal.com profile] da_lj was somewhat chagrined...

As you might expect!

I never understood why people do that. Were there no free bike thingos in the rack so s/he hoped you wouldn't leave before they did?

I'd love to see you cutting somebody's bike off yours though. :)

They looped their lock around the thingo (not to be confused with [livejournal.com profile] thingo) and also around my bike fork.
