bleurgh morning
I do wish my brain hadn't decided that since I'm flying this evening, I must wake up as early as possible so I can finish prepping. This led to weird dreams, light sleep, and waking with the birdies at 5:30. Ah well.
My local bank branch has a nice little pile of Pounds Sterling waiting for me; I have scads of reading material for the airport (I got a good sci-fi book which I'm looking forward to, Kiln People by David Brin; plus some periodicals that have piled up over the last month).
I'm hoping our lodgings are up to snuff. One of the dreams I had were that we were crammed into a shoebox of a room with creaky beds. But the pictures on the website look good, it has good reviews, so I shouldn't be worrying.
It even looks like
melted_snowball won't be stuck in France due to the ongoing general strike. Boy, that would be a way to ruin a vacation.
Nothing left but the waiting.
Oh, and the work I'm doing today. Heh.

We should get together some time soon. I'll give you a shout after I get back.

Here is an overview of what we can do, and much of it looks like very good value indeed. This feels to me like half a day, but not an entire day.
I've also googled 'nice places to eat in Bletchley' and Google's response was a hollow laugh.
My suggestion, therefore - entirely up for grabs, depending on what suits you - is as follows:
* Let's do the afternoon rather than the morning, because it'll be more comfortable & relaxed. (I'm also thinking about your jet lag!)
* The London terminus is Euston. This is five minutes walk from the best curry houses in the city. It's an easy tube journey from your hotel. (I'll work out the details later.)
* We could meet at Euston at about half-eleven, have an early curry lunch and then jump on a train (there's a rapid service about about 12:40, with one change).
* This would get us to B/P at about half-one (it's just across the road from the station), so we'd have four hours there. (It closes at half-five.)
I repeat, I'm not wedded to any of this. It's just a first thought.
Looking forward to it!

I'll mention it to d. when I call him in a few hours (he's not sure he'll have network before he arrives tomorrow).
Looking forward to it, as well!!
