Google Maps has just totally satisfied my map-and-language-geekery needs... I knew they printed Japanese maps with kanji, but I didn't realize they did русский язык as well. Pretty map, too.

I'm arriving here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=moscow&ll=55.412256,37.899055&spn=0.055837,0.216122&t=k&om=1

[I would kind of prefer if that were an optional choice; I can read Cyrillic, but not well, and I'm very rusty.]

Wow, at that resolution, that airport looks positively... unimpressive. :) And oddly laid out, though I couldn't put my finger on it. I know, it looks somewhat... military, doesn't it?

Cool. They just added a bunch of maps for western europe. Last time I checked, there were only maps for Canada, US, UK, and Japan (and Turin, Italy). :)

Ah, cool, I didn't even try western Europe, I was looking for other scripts from the East. Alas, it doesn't look like they have arabic, chinese, korean, or any more of those.

Yet.

'Cause what else are you gonna do if you have $n billion to burn. ;)

Yeah, that's right--when I was in Europe last month, the absence of Google Maps was a real pain. I kind of felt like I was travelling with my arm halfway behind my back.
