Not the way to wake up...

I dawdled over getting up this morning, because my body needed it.

What my body and brain did not need, though, was the 2-inch long centipede that came out of the bathroom drain when I turned on the water. Body and brain are firmly in agreement on that.

What to do with this monster thing, I'm not sure. Usually, I'm the one who gets rid of bugs in the house. This one is over my threshhold. That's 2-inches, before you add 24 legs and assorted tenticles.

I might put a collar on it and call it George.

[livejournal.com profile] metalana, you had one of these in your sink. How'd you get rid of it again? Edit: problem solved, see comments.

Any reason you won't just kill it? It's a bit messy, but those things are freaky -- if they invade my personal space, they get death.

I may do that.

I did that.

I think I saw one of those when I stayed at a motel in Cornwall. As I recall, "mine" got beaten with a shoe and then sprayed with Raid once the front-desk clerk finally found it.

This one had Death by Tiva sandal.

Trusty, those Tivas. Lightweight, comfortable, great for swinging.

Yes.

When [livejournal.com profile] okoshun finds things like that, she overturns a heavy container on it and then just leaves it there, and convinces her brain to edit its existence out. Eventually, I guess, it starves to death. Over time, if it's in an inconvenient place, she moves the container into a corner where she can ignore it.

Note that she doesn't *tell* me about this, so I had quite a few experiences of thinking, "What's a glass doing on the floor?" then picking it up and having some insect or other spring out and scare the crap out of me.

Thanks for that laugh; I needed it today. That's one solution, I guess.

...I suppose she keeps extra tins and containers reasonably handy, otherwise she'd eventually run out. And I suppose that's a good way to hide something from you, too.

Or, from her. "don't open that box, it's got a cake spider in it"

*hehe* She used to mostly use glasses and such. (Which has its own creepiness, I suppose.) She's stopped doing it lately. We get very few insects here, and I usually 'take care of them' before it comes to that.

*snort* That amused me If. :)
