Well, today was going to be a clean-up day... and so it was.

Dan discovered moldy carpet in the basement, and on investigation, a patch of floor is wet. And the carpet was moldy. And the junky particleboard shelves were moldy. Ew.

Now: there's a nice square patch of missing carpet where it was wet and unsalvagable, a bleach-mopped floor, and a chopped up set of shelves on the curb.

Ugh.

My guess is, condensation related to the AC being on? That's just a guess.

If you're so inclined, it might be worth investigating further just so the problem doesn't recur. I've never had AC in a house so I don't know if you get condensation in the basement. Was it in a corner, along a wall or in the centre of a room?

Very helpfully, we know an expert on this sort of thing. Hopefully, it'll be easy to diagnose. Certainly, we need to know what's going on!
