I just went to stock up on bagels and a few grocery-store items. The Sobeys was... overly ad-draped, as usual, but it was OK for a quick shopping run. Then I got to the checkout counter. There were huge vertical banners which said, "Best Legs Under the Sea!" and... the graphic was giant crabs-legs. I was slightly creeped out by that. And the cashier had a pin under her nametag, with the identical graphic and slogan. It's tough to describe how silly that looked. I asked them whether the staff were OK with that, and she said, "well, mostly. It's just on top of everything else," and pointed to her: Remembrance Day poppy, a round button with some slogan on it, and a anti-Diabetes wristband (like the Livestrong band, but red).
I asked, and she said she had seen Office Space, and yes, she tried to keep positive about it all.
