Huh. I think we got a pretty good rules explanation, and there were two players who knew the game. We spent a fair while giggling over the descriptions on the Calamities and the weapons, but the first game went fast.
I think we had fun with the lottery bit- the winner of the first game was someone with only one carrot. Randomness, thy name is...
The second game (the one I took a photo of) was unexpectedly dramatic: both players came just inches from winning all of the carrots, at least once.
Another factor and this may sound snooty but I don't mean it to be, is that we played with friends who we've not seen in way too long, so the playing was much more important than the winning. At least to me; I'll let melted_snowball, flydi and lee_ellen speak for themselves. ;)
