Sunday, 20 March 2005 03:47 pmThis weekend's been good to me. In part, this is due to enjoying this bizzare thing called "leaving work at work." Which I'm getting used to, honestly.
Yesterday, I: paid my taxes, washed the windows in the sunroom, read most of the weekend Globe and Mail, watched the "Yes Men" movie with dan, had a nice stroll with the pooch, and watched dan sing Baroque music. The concert went well, and quite well considering the trials his chorus has had with the guest conductor who belongs to the orchestra. (I'll let dan fill in details if he so chooses.) I thought they sang quite well, and I quite enjoyed hearing a Pachelbel piece that wasn't the Canon in D. The three Bach pieces were well sung. I particularly enjoyed the soprano soloist who they borrowed from a Toronto Baroque ensemble called I Furiosi, who are playing next Friday in Toronto. (*) I'd try and get tickets, but we'll be in Ithaca for the weekend. But more about that visit later.
( weekend's geekery )
Today, I went to Quaker meeting, which was satisfyingly quiet, had some good dog/owner quality time (it's snowing and I didn't feel like a walk), and I'm about to see The Incredibles for the first time. I discovered yesterday that our local video place will take reservations, which is a neat idea I'd never particularly thought about before, but certainly makes sense. Anyway, what better to do when my sweetie's off singing his heart out and I'm home alone, than see a movie that everybody's talking about, and my sweetie has no interest in? :)
This evening, we're probably going out to eat, since d's had a hard weekend and he deserves a bit of pampering. Thankfully, his cold seems mostly gone, and he's just a bit tired.

dpolicar may be amused that I Furiosi's January concert was titled "Sleep Furiously".
