"break-neck speed"
Monday, 18 July 2005 08:19 amQuick update. I've not been giving enough attention to finishing my writeup of the trip to VA; instead I'm doing things like chatting on IRC and reading. Maybe I'll finish it this week; maybe not, since it's been a week since we got back already.
This week's evenings look like: Tonight, d's parents are in town; Tomorrow, I'm clerking a committee meeting with the local Quakers; Wednesday is free; Thursday and Friday, d. and I have tickets for Elora Festival concerts.
Today d. and I are going to renew our mortgage, and Friday before business closes I'm going downtown to pick up a set of keys for a computer lab, for a geekish event on Saturday afternoon, where a dozen people are coming for a hands-on session to learn how to turn a computer into an expensive answering-machine. I'm not leading it, I'm just arranging stuff, because I'm curious about this Voice over IP thing.
The title of this post comes from a stupid quote from the Glob & Snail page B1, referring to podcasts' growth rate. Most annoying quote: "'And companies have a limited time to strike while the podcast iron is hot,' [marketing dude] said. 'That's only going to last for about six months. You can get a lot of milage just being associated with something that's cool and hip.'"
*sigh*
