"break-neck speed"

da: A smiling human with short hair, head tilted a bit to the right. It's black and white with a neutral background. You can't tell if the white in the hair is due to lighting, or maybe it's white hair! (Default)
Quick update. I've not been giving enough attention to finishing my writeup of the trip to VA; instead I'm doing things like chatting on IRC and reading. Maybe I'll finish it this week; maybe not, since it's been a week since we got back already.

This week's evenings look like: Tonight, d's parents are in town; Tomorrow, I'm clerking a committee meeting with the local Quakers; Wednesday is free; Thursday and Friday, d. and I have tickets for Elora Festival concerts.

Today d. and I are going to renew our mortgage, and Friday before business closes I'm going downtown to pick up a set of keys for a computer lab, for a geekish event on Saturday afternoon, where a dozen people are coming for a hands-on session to learn how to turn a computer into an expensive answering-machine. I'm not leading it, I'm just arranging stuff, because I'm curious about this Voice over IP thing.

The title of this post comes from a stupid quote from the Glob & Snail page B1, referring to podcasts' growth rate. Most annoying quote: "'And companies have a limited time to strike while the podcast iron is hot,' [marketing dude] said. 'That's only going to last for about six months. You can get a lot of milage just being associated with something that's cool and hip.'"

*sigh*
