gift-making, redux
Thursday, 22 December 2005 07:48 pmSo, I've posted about the calendar I made Dan, and (I think) that I had an extra, which I was going to turn into a calendar for Dan's dad. Only I wanted to replace a few photos. No problem; I took it to a shop at the University to print a few colour laser-prints and punch the 30-odd holes to fit the spiral binding. I brought those home this evening, only to discover... they punched the holes in the top, instead of the bottom. Wah.
I was going to wimp out and tell Dan's dad that I'd mail him a finished calendar when I could get it properly printed. But that is so lame. Instead... I used scissors to trim off the (ahem) extra holes, and a glue stick to mate the pages together. I would've rather used spray-fixitive, but I don't have any, and who knows if that stuff is any more long lasting than good 'ol glue-stick.
Done! And it doens't look to shabby, either. Now if only the glue holds and stays reasonably flexible.
Now I just need to: find some phone numbers, pack for 6 days, and clean the kitchen. I think that's all. *sigh* We're so spending the holidays next year here at home.
I probably won't have access to post while we're at Dan's parents'; so, happy holidays to all.
