Saw this week:
I ♥ Huckabees - I'll watch Lily Tomlin in anything. I think this is the movie that Hitchhiker's Guide should've been. Leads us down wacky rabbit-holes, with just enough to tie everything together. I loved the visual gags, especially the clowining between Jason Schwartzman and Mark Wahlburg; they had good chemistry. The only weak part was the existential psychobabble- but it was mercifully mild. If anybody reading this hasn't seen it, I'd recommend it.
My Life as a Dog - I saw this once before, in highschool with my family. It was funny to me that I'd totally blocked out what an embarrassing movie this was. I liked the uncle character, I thought the kids acted well, but... I dunno.
Tonight I went to the library to pick up some cookbooks for using a slow-cooker, since we got one from dan's sister for Christmas, and I enjoyed the results of the slow-cooked chili I made last weekend. I found two that looked promising.
For the record, the main branch of the library's video collection kicks ass right now- I'm guessing during the summer, people are more apt to check them out? Dunno. I took out Triplets of Bellville & Dr. Strangelove, neither which I've seen all the way through. Movies I didn't get tonight: whale rider, harvey, an american in paris, winged migration, east side story, and desk set, one of the remaining few Kate Hepburn movies I've not seen. Yay, public libraries!
