Last autumn,
melted_snowball and I looked at the Quakerism wikipedia page and sort of groaned. It was too historical, it overall left the taste of a bad museum piece, with not enough interpretation or content about modern Friends at all.
Well, I came back to look this last weekend, and some folks have been quite busy. It's much better now- it's got lots of modern content, it captures more of the diversity of Friends, and apparently there's a drive to make it a "featured article" through wikipedia's peer review process. Makes me happy.
And something that gives me a personal sense of accomplishment, I just rewrote the worst section of the article on Inner Light (specifically, Quakers versus rules and creeds) so it's, um, not patently false, and now it looks like this. (Here's an exact comparison of my changes, mine on the right). No, it's not perfect, but it's better than it was. Least I think so. ;)
