The Globe and Mail's Facts and Arguments page reports that in Britian, sales of pencils have skyrocketed, directly correlated with popularity of Sudoku. And that for safety reasons, British Airways has explicitly forbidden its crew members from doing Sudoku puzzles during takeoff and landing.

I'm flying someone else (*) to Britian on Tuesday. I can't decide if this news makes me glad I'm not flying British Airways, or wish I were.

(*) The someone else is Zoom, a small discount airline based in Ottawa. At least they're not Transat/ATA.
