SCENE 1:

Me, 8:00ish: *gets out of shower*.
d (who's been up since 4am): Can I put some files on your server so I don't mailbomb ancawonka? About 5 hours worth of music.
Me: *does math* Sure. Just make a public_html directory.
d, 15 minutes later: Um.
Server: ieeeeeee!!!! *thud*

Me: Why is it full? It had 15% empty just a few weeks ago!
Me: *sets up a new partition*

...But then, for some reason, his laptop wouldn't copy the entire file, scp kept timing out.
Me: *feels dumb*
d: *sigh* never mind.

SCENE 2: driving to work:
...just next to our driveway, a few AA batteries and a hard-disk in the street.
d: oh, you tried to throw them out?
Me: yes.
d: they're e-waste. you can't put them in the trash.
Me: oh.
Me: *feels dumb*

SCENE 3:

Me: at work: facing a day of password-file reconstruction and other fixup work. *thud*
Me: *thinks of Tahiti*
