Today was better than yesterday.
Thursday, 12 April 2007 07:57 pmA funny thing about yesterday... I went to my first staff meeting in my new department. I contributed, ever so slightly, to a conversation about deferring migrations to Windows Vista. My supervisor complemented my work to the department chair. In the mood I was in yesterday, I wasn't able to focus on this at all. Today, remembering it has been bringing my spirits up. Funny thing, brains.
I'm liking the Windows ergonomic-reminder program that
mynatt pointed me at (workrave). It's got a good interface, and it's very flexible. Best of all, I'm getting up to stretch every 20 minutes, as I should be.
I made plans for tomorrow night. Socializing is good. ...I'd like to find something to do Saturday. Ideas anyone? I know of errands I should do, such as buying jeans at the outlet mall. But that's boring.
Last night I watched the first half of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead- I looking forward to finishing it tonight, if I have the energy. I went to sleep at 10:30 yesterday, and was so zonked I missed
melted_snowball calling around 11. I didn't even have earplugs in. I was tired. Come to think of it, I still am.
I've just remembered to start downloading the first bit of Doctor Who Season 3, whose second episode just aired in the UK. I'm looking forward to watching those, whenever they finish cooking.

Date: Friday, 13 April 2007 01:02 pm (UTC)Lives of Others- thanks for the recommendation; I've put it on the "watch sooner or later" list. ...In your opinion, is it a "must see on big screen" film?

Date: Friday, 13 April 2007 09:45 pm (UTC)Regarding "The Lives of Others"... well in my opinion there are only a few films that are worthy of watching on the big screen (can you tell I don't go to the theater that much?).. Any of the Star Wars, or Star Trek or fancy special effects movies. Other than that.. I'd say if you want to wait till it's on dvd.. it's still a movie to watch!

Date: Friday, 13 April 2007 10:02 pm (UTC)One movie that was surprisingly better on a big screen was Little Miss Sunshine. I don't know if it was edited differently, but there were little jokes that were more obvious on the big screen because they only showed up in a small part of the screen. Like the flashing ads on the TV in the hospital.. Which were really inappropriate to be showing in a room where people were trying to grieve...
