An ad briefly on dell's website this morning:

Folks I hang with on IRC managed to put in 7 or 8 orders (complete with having their cards charged) before it reverted to $240.

Odds are Dell will reverse the charges and cancel the orders, but it would be quite the deal if they honoured the orders.

I'll be very amused if my friend R. gets his 4.

I do believe they have to honour it. I'm not sure the legalities involved, but given it was an advertised price and they charged the credit card (thus completing the transaction) I doubt they can do anything about it

Sweet find if it works out :)

That superscript (1) next to the price? ...it links to a set of terms that say if a price is posted in error, they can retract the offer, even after it's been charged to the card...

They can't retroactively charge the $239, of course. But I think with this legalese, they're able to refund the money and not honour the sale.

Still, I'm hopeful for mah friends. :)
