I just found a bug in google maps. These directions from the Gardiner to the High Park area seems to stitch in a panel from Hamilton, Ontario instead.

Well you can also get from the Gardiner to Paris, France.

I think my favourite map bug was when Yahoo maps told me that the best way to get from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario to Sault Ste. Marie Michigan was to drive all the way back around Toronto, through Detroit, and up the other side.

dots.

I hope nobody took Yahoo maps up on that route.

...or google's Atlantic route, for that matter.

I think that Yahoo one has since been fixed.

If anyone could actually take the Atlantic route, they should be competing in the olympics - they'd win gold in any of the swimming races.

Dunnville is lovely in the summer, when all the young girls flock to Camp Kiawa. I don't think I've even been in May.

I don't think I've ever been close- QEW and Welland are the closest I've gone. I don't think I've seen Lake Erie itself from the northern side a'tall. (And here's where all my birding friends are aghast).

Could be worse. At least you still eventually end up on Gardiner Expressway. :)

...but the route only works if you can manage that pair of teleports in the middle!

Maybe google has given away their /next/ technology. googPort?

Sweet.

Hmm. That *would* also explain their cross-atlantic directions...

Nope. "Swim across the Atlantic Ocean" !== "beam from Boston to Paris"

I guess they assume we're all superheroes...

I think it's just them being sneaky. I mean, if they said "beam from Boston to Paris", that'd just be a dead giveaway of their plans.
