I just had my second hour of physiotherepy. Janet gave me an arm exercise and two stretches I'm supposed to do daily. They all make my shoulder go 'tick' but she reassured me it's a good 'tick' not a danger 'tick'. I've gotten myself quite conditioned that shoulder ticks are bad juju, so I needed the reassuring.

Now, along with a stretchy exercise feeling, which actually feels good and not painful (yay!), I have an awareness of at least a few of the muscles in my arm and back that need work. Apparently these muscles have gotten quite accustomed to being 100% stretched all day long because I slump my shoulders forward at my desk. No wonder they're sore.

She did a perculiar stretching / shaking of my arm and hand to try and release some of the tightness via the nerve running down my arm into my wrist (at least I think that was her explanation). I had this bizarre "human doll" feeling when first my wrist felt stretched, then gradually my lower arm felt stretched instead. She said when it only feels like a stretch in my shoulder, I'll be doing much better.

*ow*

It's tempting to audit a class or two upstairs. I really don't know enough about stretches and the mechanics of my own body.
