while I'm at it...

Note to self: When you order Ethiopian food from the veggie place across from the bus depot, the right size for two people is $10 worth, not $20.

Do you mean the one several blocks down on the main drag, upstairs? Or is there another Ethiopian joint we don't know about?

There are (or recently were) 4 Ethiopian joints downtown. The oldest, AM Africa (on King at Queen), is good, but since the summer we've been getting food from this veggie place instead. It's on Ontario between Charles and Halls Ln.

$10 = enough for d. and I for dinner.

*stuffed*

The place was full and the clientele was interesting. I've never hear Spanish in an Ethiopian restaurant before.

Excellent. We will have to try that one. Do you know the name? is it strictly takeout?

Um, I don't off the top of my head.

They do eat-in also.

Some of the best Indian in the DC area used to be un the upper level of an old mall in Falls Church, it looked like a greasy spoon, and served Indian and Mexican.

So Latin American plus cuisine of your choice is a classic, IMHO.

According to my best friend, that merely supplies breakfast for tomorrow. ;-) (No, I never followed this advice.)

Spicy Ethiopian food?

Um, I guess it could. I'd prefer toast and jam, though...

Oh I *wish* we had decent Mexican food, greasy spoon or other. There is one place, now, but they cut their menu considerably the last time we were there, and I bet they won't last. :(

The local free paper's "Best Of" featured Taco Bell as the best Mexican food in town for a number of years.

*gets depressed*

*I've* never eaten leftover Ethiopian for breakfast, even though toast and jam provides insufficient protein to get me through the morning without a glucose crash. :)

Well, you know, if you would hang out with the after-lunch crowd at Meeting, you would have known that the $10.00 plate was plenty...

Heh. Izzit my fault y'all aren't free for lunch the weeks I am? ;)

I'm not even sure that would've helped, due to my atrocious memory for some details- d. and I have gotten take out from that place before, and neither of us could remember whether we were to order one unit or two.

I went in and said, "I'd like the veggie platter for two." He said, "Two veggie platters?" and I said, "sure" instead of "how much are they" or "should I just get one." That was my mistake- but only a very minor one; the leftovers were delicious last night. Happy happy tastebuds.
