daThere are just some people that make me really happy to talk to. My friend Ellie from Ithaca is one of them; a five minute conversation with her can just perk me up from regular daily blahs.
d. and I are off to Ithaca tomorrow, for the weekend. D. has a symposium to go to; I'm going to be spending time with friends.
I successfully got the car in for its regular maintenance. The word is, we need to either drive more, or get more regular maintenance, since the front brakes got all rusty and needed replacing. Cha-ching. So much for that chunk o' paycheck.
We're also having one and a half bathrooms redone (one bathroom, and the ceiling on the second). They're starting tomorrow, conveniently when we're leaving. I hope the loudest parts of the reno come while we're gone, so they don't scare the dog all next week. Maybe we can secretly take her in to work with us. Shh!
