Friday, 11 November 2005 05:30 pmBusy day. I'm not sure I should be going home yet, there's much to be done next week and the next.
I got minor good news though; I'm going to be published on http://www.perl.com, which is owned by O'Reilly Media. I have until the middle/end of January to write the article, so I should have no problem doing it in off-work hours. [Edit: and possibly a second article after the first, since the editor and I agree there's possibly content for it.]
Now if only $dayjob would give me the contract for a long-term job, I'll be even more pleased. My contract has been extended beyond the end of the year, for another four months, but beyond that is a big question mark. My boss is doing his best; it sounds like everybody wants to hire me long-term, but there are some changes that need to happen beforehand. Oh well, it's not like I've ever had job-security before.
