This 'n That
Monday, 28 November 2005 11:27 amMy parents' house is tastefully decorated in scarves. Piles of scarves, knitted by my grandmother. Approximately 120, by the count I made last night. They just brought 40 to their church store. I had a pair of knit blankets on the bed last night. That and a pup are pretty warm.
Quick movie review: Creature Comforts is even shorter than the 30ish minutes listed on the box, because there are three other sborts which add up to approximately 30 minutes. All of them are neat in their own way, they all have the Aardman Animation touch. But I'd already seen Adam and Watt's Pig before, so the ensemble was a bit of a letdown. Tonight we're seeing Weeping Camel, which I've wanted to see for a while too.
But wow, it feels like I've been here longer than 19 hours. I've gotten further in my book, caught up with my family a bit, traded pre-Christmas/post-Thanksgiving presents, and already started on my second Claratin for the dust. (
roverthedog just walked into the room and sneezed and walked out). The dog is hovering. Asking to go out constantly. I konw how she feels, sort of. We'd go for a snowshoe, but the snow's all melting in the 50-degree weather (it's muddy so a walk is out too).
This morning Grandma dropped her hearing aid into water, which immediately killed it. So shemight will be without any hearing aid for two weeks at least. I'm going to try and convince my folks to buy her a spare, since Grnadma can afford it. (To think she's gone this long without immersing it in water. To think such an essential tool can be destroyed so easily.)
Meh. This trip, I think two nights is the right length.
