Smelly Discount Groceries

It is super when a week's groceries cost $30 at the local Price Chopper (mostly fresh veggies, a few staples), when I expected it to come to $35 or $40. There were a bunch of $1 sales (on 3lb carrots, leaf lettuce, 3lb. onions) and I didn't buy anything over $3.50. And it's great that they save money by giving us reused boxes to put our groceries into. But, for the future, I must remember to avoid the "Orville Redenbocker Movie Style Popcorn" box, because it made the entire trunk smell like rancid fake butter. ...Powdered artificial butter doesn't seem like it should go rancid, so I wonder why that box smelled so awful.

I took roverthedog to the off-leash park this afternoon, which was full of barky dogs today, though many were willing to play nice. We met a huge pup, a Burmese Mountain dog, who was there for there for his first time, but gamely making friends, and a cute cocker cross (schnauzer? It looked mostly like a small spaniel with a narrow nose).

...Rover says she misses her other person, and she'll stick close to me 'till he comes back. She wanted to post that herself, but she can't remember her password, and oddly, neither can I.

It was quite pretty at the park, with the new snow coming down (rather hard, for a while).
