Ugh, part 1 & 2

Regardless of the pic, this isn't politics related. That was my "disasters" icon, which I never have to use, thankfully.

Dog vomit, first thing in the morning, is not good.

But worse? Worse is having the cleanup paper-towels clog the toilet to overflowing.

Luckily, the toilet was otherwise quite clean. As the water-levels rose to the top of the bowl, I had the brainstorm to pull out the clog by hand. I didn't manage to remove it before it overflowed, but at least it was a small lake in the bathroom instead of a big one.

And then I had my coffee, and things got a bit better.

Guh. :( What makes that even worse is when you discover it (cat vomit in my case) by accidentally stepping in it in the dark. Fortunately, it's been quite a while since that's happened to me, but the memories are still more vivid than I'd like.

My sympathies...

(I will *not* reply with "random smilarly gross stories from kid-raising" though the temptation is huge.)

Hah. Good point, and thanks for not sharing them right now. ;)

And it's extremely unlikely that our small mammel will start trying to plug the toilet with things, or her nose, or...

Yeah.

Secret solution the secondary problem:

When it becomes clear that there's a clog in the toilet, quickly turn off the water to the tank. If your toilet is set up right, doing so should prevent an overflow.

Just a helpful note from a random passerby.

Oho. Good reason for me to acquaint myself with where that valve is. (if it's not easy to get to, I suppose I could pick up the top-lid and lift up the floater, to at least buy me some time.)

Anyhow, welcome & thanks!

My browser font being sans-serif and slightly small, when I just re-read this, it read as "When it becomes clear that there's a dog in the toilet, ..."

which leads to a totally different set of problems.
