The three Christian Peacemakers hostages have been freed- by US and British troops, who were acting on a tip from a man who was captured by US troops only hours earlier.

Mostly, I'm glad they're OK. Then comes my internal debate about the troops' participation in all of this; but there's a time for that, and that's not now. Now I'll just be happy for the release, and continuing to remember Tom Fox's family and friends.

Glory be! And this just a day after ETA announced its change of heart. Peace is beautiful.

Oh! That was *your* internal debate! I was wondering where it came from. Please fetch it from my head at your earliest convenience. It's making my brain hurt.

Sigh. Whew, but sigh.

That was worth a laugh, thanks.

I don't know how to retrieve internal debates once they're loosed. Sorry.

I can only suggest watching a lot of television, perhaps reality TV shows. Maybe computer games.

Next time don't be such a looser.

There's a thanks vigil happening outside of $city City Hall at 5:30pm today, where $city is your residence city, not your employment city.

hey, daniel. this is wonderful news; i'm glad you mentioned it. i've just finished reading the CPT book 'getting in the way', which was very engaging, so i've been thinking about them a lot. also, i wanted to pass on my condolances to you & dan regarding the tragic passing of john brodie; i received a mass email about it and was sad to hear how it happened. so my thoughts are with you & his other friends i know in k-w.

in other news, my trip is going well; i'm in dar es salaam about to catch a boat to zanzibar. more stories later when i'm not paying by the minute...

matt

...Thanks for mentioning the book- it occurs to me that our Quaker Meeting should have a copy.

Yes, it was tragic. People in the Meeting were glad to meet a number of his other friends at his memorial. He travelled in interesting circles.

Glad to hear from you. It was a nice surprise! :)

Keep the stories coming please. :)
