Friday, 25 November 2005 11:42 pmThis week has seemed extra-long, becuase I thought it would be two days shorter with my trip to see my folks. I'll get the vacation days one way or another, but I'm a bit burned out this week. If the weather gets better tomorrow, I may go on Sunday through Tuesday. We'll see.
Yesterday afternoon, I took an hour in the afternoon and went to a visitation at the Funeral Home for the wife of a local Quaker. She was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma just two months ago and died three days ago. Her husband, understandably, is pretty devestated, but has lots of family around, which is good. I wish I'd gotten to know her better.
After work and my programmers club meeting, my wonderful sweetie came in the blinding snow to pick me up at the University. Had I realized how bad the weather was, I would've taken the bus- it took 30 minutes to drive home, with pretty tense driving. I hate to think how long it took the guy who lives down south near the 401.
Today... well, I spent most of it trying to recompile old programs to work with a new architecture and much newer tools. Urg.

This evening,
melted_snowball and I had a wonderful meal and evening with
lovecraftienne and
persephoneplace. Warm fire, wagging dogs, and- and
persephoneplace served us angelfood cake with rasberries, blueberries, and whipped cream! Wow. Life is good.
