fried Mars bars, fried strawberry cheesecake, homemade crab rangoon, beer-batter-fried onion-rings, fried mushrooms and asparagus...

You better believe that's a legitimate segue. Last night (was it only?) amarylliss hosted the Great State of Texas' Fried State Fair US Thanksgiving party. Oh Gods. It was a blast.

the_infamous_j and I bopped to Tara's catchy music (see? segue? right there.) while a certain other guy we know rolled his eyes at us violently. ...I knew it was going to be great when amarylliss, nobody_here, chezmax and I went to the grocery store for "just a few things" and returned with armloads of "hey I bet that'll be tasty fried."

That's a lie, I really knew it would be great when amarylliss offered to host. I have friends with great ideas. Including macman47, who went out and bought a second fondue fountain, and then modded it to turn off the heater so we could have a *ranch dressing fountain*

Oh yes.

I wonder when my coat will stop smelling like the rear end of a McDonalds.

I wonder when I can get more deep-fried cheesecake.

I did eat non-fried! Like... a few squares of laughing-cow cheese... a few pickles... Hm.

See, we had to test all the savoury friedstuffs in combinations (hotter oil? with ranch? without ranch?)... all in the name of science. Science!

Then, there were those who went for dinner beforehand- I think they missed out a bit, but they seemed happy with their fried allotment.
